and the squirrel.
I had forgotten my books and paper at home.

Drawing Thumper, how I did it...

This is not meant to be a tutorial on how to do this. This is just how I currently am going about trying to recreate something on paper. I will get better ( I hope ) but as an artist once told me it is a process. Right now, this is mine.

Please click on the pictures, the first 2 are very faint.

William Blake-Newton

Picture found
William Blake- Newton 1795/circa 1805

My attempt

being that I am posting this Sunday night
I think a nightcap is in order
while I ponder is it a small success or
a learning step.

Keep Drawing In The Lines

Sometimes inspiration comes to a stop. The words that were dancing in my head seemed to have slowed down since I did the "wedding vows" for the lady at work. It is a mystery and I am awaiting something to happen.

But there seems an awakening in another form of drawing. I will see where this goes, but so far it has been satisfying. Here are some recent attempts.

The first one is a drawing I made from an  exercise I used in my instruction art book.  It is a knight on a horse. The trick was to turn the picture upside down and then draw it. My drawing was done upside down, and I had no idea what it would look like until I was done.

First the book....

and then my attempt, remember I did this upside down.

I got restless afterwards looking for something else to draw. I had gotten a hand drawn thank you card from my neighbor which looks like this.

This is what I did.

The horse I drew upside down, the man right side up. Which makes me wonder, how does drawing up-side down help the mind draw?

Anyway, not all music, or thoughts, or poems, there might be more to me to be unearthed, a lump of coal to turn into a diamond! The book does say a self portrait is in order. Must get back to work...

First Drawing- Work Horse-The Beginning!

This was a gift from my neighbor after helping her
with a few things around the house.
This is her work.
The bright spot is a light from above.
Sorry about that.
I thought I would try to draw it

This is my attempt below.

Everything has a beginning.
This is mine.

Pen in hand

I thought I would give it a try.
I wondered how to do color,
something I don't know how to do yet.

so I decided to add a bit of color,
the shirt cuff and the pen.
and a bit of the brown ( box )? also.

Strange Tree

I saw this on Linda and her Twaddle. It reminded me of The Wizard of Oz movie and the walk through the scary forest. If you remember Dorthy and the scarecrow got the trees to throw apples at them so she could have something to eat.

This is my version. I am sure there are extra branches. I was getting dizzy at one point. I did the best I could. If you look closely, the tree is looking at her!
