My Son The Artist
My son ( almost 22 ) has done some drawing on and off over the last few years. I came home from work yesterday and found this with my drawing book. It is quite original and very good ( proud father ), and I encourage him to draw more often. He loves to play poker. I love how he used his perspective to show what is going on. There is a lot of detail in his drawing. I think he is better then me! He does not know that I am posting this, but I don't think he would mind.

3 Drawings In 5 Hours
I felt a sudden and tremendous burst of energy. I will be in for some long hours the next three days at work with our store's inventory starting tomorrow at 6:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm.
I was actually working on a fourth, but my drawing table is on the patio and the bugs were out in full force!
I had to give up, another day perhaps.
I started drawing at three and ended at eight. It was a lot of fun!
time for a cold beer
p.s.
I did post all three drawings below this post. My version of Da Vinci. Manga, and Horton hears a Who.
I hope you like them.

Scary Driftwood Hand At Dusk
Sometimes I get caught up in a photo or drawing that has too much darkness and not enough detail for me to see clearly enough to draw. This might be one of those times. A work on progress. Someday I will look back at some of my drawings and realize these were the building blocks along the way.

Swan In Charcoal
Thanks to my Greek friend Fany at Φανή Παπαγεωργίου, Ζωγράφος for her encouragement. She asked me to try a swan drawing and gave me a step by step in how to do it.
I took a picture of my drawing with and without flash. I was unsure with the black paper and mostly charcoal which would look better. I will let you be the judge.
Thanks and kisses Fany!
It was fun!

RJ-Self Portrait
Sigh, a difficult drawing for me. I still have a way to go in drawing hair. I have to learn to get the nuances of that down.
A woman's hair seems to be easier for me, more flow to it.
It is easy to be critical of how one looks to others. I can see all the flaws. Maybe others will not.
I will redo it down the road as my skills improve, a before and after! Maybe no double chin? lol
This is not Man Thinking, more like Man With No Thoughts! Ha Ha
As always, doing my best
time for a cup of tea

Sad Eyes
I have been fighting tiredness lately.
I felt better today so I gave it a try.
I saw this over at Dragos.com.
I hope I did it justice!
There is a second part that I will try later.
thanks for stopping by.

The Fist
Hand drawing continued
found
My try
My paper is a 50 lb. weight.
I have been advised to use
250 lb. weight paper
which is rougher and holds charcoal better
The charcoal I used is a blunt type of material.
I think I need more of a pencil style
for more detail
coffee time

My Drawing Journey, Part One
Repost
Recently I decided to draw everyday at lunch time at work.
I pop in my ear buds, turn up my music and get to drawing.
I want to work from photos eventually I think, that may change.
I will see as I go.
Something parts I drew I felt good about.
When annoyed, I x-it out, or slash through it in disgust.
Most of this is done on my lunch, time flies, I don't want to get back to work.
How good will I get by years end, we will see.
I was kind of nervous doing this in front of people at first.
People do come up to see what I am doing. A few shared that they drew also.
to be continued.
building on face structure
eyes, mouth, lips
flipping through a book
I thought I could draw the drawing
practice, practice
hands must be learned
eyes, hand grasping
